MAISON MARGIELA - Replica Memory Box review

In the last couple of years Replica became very popular among influencers, sparking a lot of hype due to their unexpected scent that recall unique points on time. Since launching in 2010 Maison Margiela became a sensation in the Perfume world, the famed Replica series portrays numerous scenarios, from one of the brands most popular By The Fireplace to Under The Lemon Trees. The concept of creating fragrances that people naturally will have a memory tied to it was mind blowing, with this in mind I became interest in traying the Replica line.

However, with all the hype behind the brand there were obvious issues that started popping out when research into the fragrances. The main one was the lasting power, as an Eau de toilette (The range possess Eau de perfume but they are harder to obtain in the UK) the lasting time on the skin is drastically reduce in contract to a cologne or and Eau de Parfum. Concerned to purchase any of these fragrance before testing them and with lockdown in the UK, I decided to get a memory box that contains 10 samples:

Lazy Sunday Morning

Jazz Club

Beach Walk

By The Fireplace

Springtime in a Park

Sailing Day

Flower Market

Under the Lemon Trees

Whispers in the Library

As expected, the fragrances are unique and well tied to their unique scenarios, transporting you to a long walk along memory lane. The fresher scents on this line have a poor lasting power, as per Sailing day and Lazy Sunday Morning with an average of 2 hours in the skin. In contrast, to some of the strongest fragrances in this box and my personal favourites Jazz Club and By the Fireplace.

By the Fireplace

If you want a unique scent that reminds you of being in a Cabin up in the mountains next to a fireplace, this is the fragrance. It definitely has a smoky scent with warm undertones of

vanilla, beautiful fragrance for the cold months. This is not a blind buy fragrance as it can be too overpowering for some people.

Notes

Top Notes: Cloves, Pink pepper and Orange blossom

Middle Notes: Chestnuts, Guaiac Wood and Juniper

Base Notes: Vanilla, Peru Balsam and Cashmeran

Perfumer: Marie Salamagne

Jazz Club

Although it is advertised as a male perfume, it has a sweet boozy note that it can wear by women in a winter night or clubbing. Once the fragrance dries down it has a coconut scent that make this fragrance unique and perfect for all year round. This fragrance opens a path

into the sweet boozy fragrances as Initio Prives Side Effect and Killian Angels Shares

Notes

Top Notes: Pink Pepper, Neroli and Lemon

Middle Notes: Rum, Clary Sage and Java vetiver oil

Base Notes: Tabacco leaf, Vanilla bean and Styrax

Perfumer: Alienor Massenet
